Practice before magisterial district judges is an area of practice that I commonly handle. I have represented Plaintiffs and Defendants before Magisterial District Judges all over Southwestern Pennsylvania as Plaintiffs and Defendants in traffic cases, criminal, cases civil cases and landlord/tenant cases. I firmly believe it is in one’s best interest to be represented in court by an attorney and appearing before a Magisterial District Judge is no different. With respect to criminal matters, the police and/or the District Judge is no different.
With respect to criminal matters, the police and/or the District Attorney’s Office represent the interests of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. It is wise to have representation as obtaining an attorney places you on equal footing with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania magistrate hearings. With respect to civil litigation and landlord/tenant law, again, it is always wise to obtain legal counsel so that your legal rights are protected.
